Why is death scary?
If you ask any person how do you see death, the most common response would be one of fear. They will say they are scared of it. Death represents loss of familiar situation. Loss of people we love, their presence, love and guidance which we take for granted. They are fixtures in our lives which we use as references/ guideposts/milemarkers to navigate the maze of life.
When we hear about someone dying, the immediate focus id on how their family members might be coping with it. Then the focus shifts to "Oh my God what will I do if it happens to me? In what terrible way will my elders loose their lives, how will it jeopardize my life? How will the people left behind be affected in the immediate and long term? How guilty I would feel for being so far away from my parents and not being able to support them in the time of need?"
Once a person has grieved his loss and come to terms with it, the process of rebuilding starts. One can see beyond the loss, the important need and benefits of death. Death is like anything else in life. What happened to you is not important, How you frame it is. You can choose to frame it as tragic, painful, loss OR as a change, a new beginning, liberating, a new chapter in the book of the soul's journey.
Death provides a meaning to life. When we encounter the death of a relative or a person we know, we pause and reflect on how meaningful their life was and how we can make ours more meaningful. We also are reminded of how death is a great equalizer, comes to everybody: rich, poor, healthy, sick, male, female, every nationality.
Why is death necessary?
There are so many people creating so much corruption, pollution in the world with actions which give them pwoer and money even when they know they have to leave everything behind. Think what people might be doing if they knew they would be here forever to enjoy their spoils? What would humans do then?
